An air conditioning technician from St Clair, only 22 years of age was charged with the following offences before the court:
- Stalk or intimidate intending to cause fear of physical or mental harm
- Affray
- Threaten injury to person with intent to commit indictable offence
On the date of the offence, he was driving home when his mother called him advising him that his ex-girlfriend was assaulting her at the property, he immediately sped to the home.
Upon arrival, he got out of the car with a metal police and charged towards his ex-girlfriend who was assaulting his mother.
Police immediately intervened and stopped him.
Due to the circumstances and provocation surrounding the offence, Mr Faraj conducted lengthy negotiations with the prosecution who ultimately agreed to withdraw all charges against him. He was able to keep his job by avoiding a conviction and move on with his life without the need for excessive court proceedings.
